I was surprised at the Total Facilities Trade Show at Darling Harbour ICC last week to discover how many organisations are still running manual paper systems when it comes to contractor compliance. The number of inquiries over the 2 days set a trade show record indicating to me companies are seriously looking to move away from paper to electronic. Only a few years ago it was still easy to say I will stay with paper, now it is compelling to go electronic.
Rydges Newcastle recently selected Time & People to assist with the compliance of visitors. Holiday Inn Sydney Airport also recently started the implementation to manage the compliance of contractors, of most interest was the ability to give access to each supplier to an online portal where they can load insurances, new workers coming to locations and also trigger the completion of inductions before workers even arrive at the location.
