Being able to AirPrint has been available since 2010. I remember setting this up in my home and amazing the kids as we printed from the iPad to the home printer. You can find a whole range of printers that will now work directly with AirPrint and as I discovered at home you only needed a printer on a network and you can AirPrint directly to the printer.
What we have not been able to do with Visitor Management is print a Visitor Label or Visitor Pass from an iPad. The numbers of customers wanting to use iPads for Visitors to sign in has increased significantly over the past 2-3 years.
iPads have started to look very nice as Visitor Kiosks as you can see below
But the problem is how so we print the visitor pass?
Along comes the Brother QL-710W and QL-720NW label printers which now support AirPrint.
This is the smartest looking label printer I have ever seen to produce Visitor Labels.
Both the QL-710W and the QL-720NW are designed for printing pre-sized labels for file folders, mailing/shipping labels, name badges, and banners. Thanks to AirPrint support, you can just design your label on the iPhone’s screen and hit print. The label will instantly come out. No need for wires or drivers.
And in case you have a business built around printing labels, the Brother QL printers offer ultra-fast print speeds of up to 93 labels per minute, complete with pre-designed label templates.
